Richmond Ave. residents band together to research street, boost preservation

The Richmond Avenue History Project (RAHP) was established in 2001 by a group of historically minded residents seeking to research, document, preserve, and present the rich heritage of the street. Publishing a brochure and presenting information on their website to educate Buffalonians on the “hidden jewel” of the Olmsted Parkway system is a short term plan. Dave Bender, a key member, is also on the advisory board of The Campaign for Greater Buffalo History, Architecture & Culture.
Members of RAHP are documenting houses on the street. Individuals research the architecture, occupants, and the history of each. As such, RAHP is always interested in hearing from current and former residents willing to share knowledge of their homes and general information about life on Richmond Avenue in decades past.
