Campaign's 2008 Holiday Meet-up Dec. 16 at Legendary Lafayette Tap Room
December 09, 2008
The Campaign for Greater Buffalo's 2008 Holiday Meet-up will take place on Tuesday, December 16 from 6-8pm in one of Buffalo's greatest bar spaces, the Lafayette Tap Room. Built about a century ago in an early addition to Louise Bethune's Hotel Lafayette, the Tap Room has 16-foot-high ceilings and is adorned by a mounted Buffalo (bison) head that is certainly itself a Buffalo landmark. The event is free for Campaign members and $10 for friends. At 8, acoustic blues performer Fritz the Cat takes the stage at the front of the barroom
Buffalo's hometown craft brewer, Flying Bison, will be providing seasonal brews and finger foods will be served. The Tap Room will have its full menu of hearty tavern fare available for those wishing a sit-down dinner in the commodious dining room.
In addition to the usual socializing and scintillating conversation, there will be updates on various preservation issues, including the Fruitbelt, Prospect Hill, and the Richardson.
